eRenewable Resource Group - Your Source for Affordable Solar Training
PHOENIX-(Business Wire)-September 29, 2009 - eRenewable Resource Group, in partnership with Rio Salado College, is offering the only ongoing NABCEP Solar Installation Training in Phoenix.
This Rio Salado College/eRenewable Resource Solar Installation Workshop is a 5-day intensive course that teaches the technical skills necessary to design and safely install solar-electric systems, a renewable energy source. This 5-day training session includes four days of classroom and one day of hands-on installation lab.
PV100: Photovoltaics: Solar Design & Installation Training
Participants will learn the fundamental concepts required for working safely with solar systems, and will design residential-sized, code-compliant, batteryless grid-tied and stand-alone systems for this renewable energy.
This in-person workshop will provide an overview of the basic solar system applications. The goal of this session is to create a fundamental understanding of the core concepts necessary to work with both residential and commercial solar systems, a renewable energy source.
Topics include: system components, site analysis, PV module criteria, mounting solutions, safety and commissioning. Participants will learn the fundamentals of sizing a residential batteryless grid-tied system, wire sizing, overcurrent protection and grounding. This session will also review fundamental design criteria for off-grid stand-alone systems, including specifying batteries, controllers and battery-based inverters.
Students leave this solar workshop being able to:
- Perform power and energy calculations
- Perform a load analysis for off-grid and batteryless grid-tied systems
- Implement electrical efficiency measures to reduce system size
- Diagram an array and battery bank in series and parallel configurations
- Obtain and apply module specifications
- Determine module performance and array performance given various conditions
- Determine the azimuth and altitude angle of the sun and evaluate shading potential
- Size a residential batteryless grid-tied system, including the inverter, array, wiring and overcurrent protection, etc.
This workshop qualifies you to take the NABCEP PV Entry Level Certificate of Knowledge Exam. The test, which consists of 60 multiple choice questions, takes approximately two hours to complete. The test will be offered through Rio Salado College. The cost of the test is $150.
Enrollment is limited – October 5-9, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. - Monday–Friday
Workshop Fee: $995
